Welcome to our forty seventh newsletter issued in January 2009, to keep you up to date with some of the changes in Income tax, National Insurance and VAT along with compliance regulations for businesses, plus other oddments that have caught our eye. If you would like a copy of any past newsletters, please call and we can either send or e-mail them to you.
First, we hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and with us, are looking forward to a Happy, Peaceful and Prosperous New Year. Thank you all for your cards and gifts, all very much appreciated.
As it's that frantic time of year again - the final month for Self Assessment submissions, we haven't really had a chance to keep up with many developments, so this newsletter is mainly a list of recent topics covered as a reminder for you all.
For our news, congratulations to Ian in Angela's office for becoming a Dad again and best wishes to Valerie on her retirement. We hope to find a new junior book-keeper soon for the Gilders Road office. We are also redesigning our leaflet and will be running some marketing soon. Now Sam is well settled in to the Payroll and CIS routines, we are actively looking for more work for her!
One item that did come to light is that by mid-December, the HM Revenue & Customs PAYE offices were just starting to open post received in mid-October! And we were worried about being a couple of weeks behind! Still, more news next month.
