Automatic Enrolment & Workplace Pension Reform – More facts.
The current protests by Public Sector Workers about changes to their pension schemes and retirement age is hiding the fact that private sector workers will be much harder hit by the new regime being introduced. It also means that a great deal of Government time is being taken up by these larger pension schemes so there is insufficient time to “educate” small employers.

The Department of Work and Pensions has just announced a Workplace Pension scheme. This is going to happen and it is going to cost every employer an increasing percentage of their staff’s salary over the years plus additional time and admin. The Government is keen to promote the National Employment Savings Trust Corporation which will be a “pension provider” available to everyone, but as yet there have been no takers.
Statements of Employment
Often these are overlooked when taking on employees but is something that Employers are legally obliged to provide. We can supply a basic Statement of Employment covering all the legally required elements and thus ensuring that you are acting within the law for your employees. Also see The Employment Contract for more detail.
Worker Status Reviews
Legislation is in force that determines worker status. HMRC looks for a "master - servant" relationship and states that "employment status is a matter of fact, not a matter of choice". We can prepare a thorough review of your work force, from one worker upwards, to guide you and ensure your compliance with these regulations.
