New Business Payment Support Service

If you are having problems finding your tax money, you can contact the HMRC Support Service on 0845 302 1435, Monday to Friday between 8 am and 8 pm and at the weekend between 8 am and 4 pm.

To register as a CIS contractor online go to

Or phone 0845 607 0143 (open from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm, seven days a week).
If you register through HMRC’s website you will need to put some details in an online email form.
The details you may need depend on the type of business you are registering, but they will include things like:

• your unique taxpayer's reference
• key individuals' National Insurance numbers
• the registered business name and contact details

To register as a CIS sub-contractor you will need to ring HMRC’s CIS Helpline on 0845 366 7899
(open from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm, seven days a week).

ACAS stands for Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service. They are an independandt advice organisation providing clear, confidential and impartial advice to assist the caller in resolving issues in the workplace.
